Dear Leisure Club Family

The first day of Shavuot is May 19th. The literal meaning of Shavuot is “weeks”; the second pilgrimage festival. On Shavuot we recall G-d’s gift of the Torah. Our ancestors celebrated this holiday by giving the first fruits of the land to G-d, making a pilgrimage to the Temple in Jerusalem.

On this holiday we read the second Megillah, the book of Ruth.

                        Fondly, Karen
