Congregation Brothers of Israel

L'dor Vador—From Generation to Generation since 1883
לדור ודור

Congregation Brothers of Israel is a modern, Conservative synagogue in Newtown, Pennsylvania. Our 135 year old congregation followed our members “across the river” from Trenton, New Jersey to the verdant acres of Bucks County in 2007.  Our location on Washington Crossing Road is close to I-95, and the bridges to New Jersey, while providing us with land for a playground, a gaga court and our beautiful Gan Mayim, our Place of Peace. This meandering stream was built through the generosity of the Soroker Family so we could enjoy Tashlich on our own property.  Our Rabbi, Aaron Gaber, and his family live  next door in the house owned by the synagogue.

We pride ourselves on our friendliness and our inclusiveness.  All are welcome and our guests find themselves being greeted, included in services, fed and urged to return and join the CBOI family.   We honor the rich traditions our long history provides, while at the same time rising to the challenges of today's society.  Our members and visitors alike  feel the energy behind a growing congregation and an evolving exploration of Jewish life.

Our religious school offers our children a quality Jewish education and the skills needed to participate in religious life, to present positive examples of Jewish values and to be active participants in Jewish living. Congregation Brothers of Israel is multi-generational with much to offer congregants through every stage of life.
